Wine lovers living in the USA (except Utah) can now (re-)order wines from Alsace, Burgundy and Tuscany via this shop. As you do NOT pay the 20% French TVA tax or Italian taxes, you lower and sponsor your shipping costs.
Buying and shipping wines via our shop has become very affordable now!
In 2019 you can also (re-)order the great Pinot Noir wines from Philippe Leclerc in Gevrey Chambertin via the Club.
From his youngest age Philippe Leclec went in the vineyards to prune, trellis, harvest with his father and grandfather. His domain planted with 10,000 stocks per hectare spreads over 7.5 ha, 100% in the Côte de Nuits area, distributed for two thirds at Gevrey-Chambertin and the rest at Chambolle-Musigny.
He works his estate in integrated farming, with an organic spirit, with a mastered yield of 35 to 40 hl per hectare. The average age of his vines is fifty years, but some stocks are eighty years old. “I have never extracted vine stocks. I like the old plants as they give round and very concentrated berries.
Very respectful of the ancestral know-how, Philippe knew how to develop his vinification methods to offer to the clientele a ready-to-drink Burgundy, immediately pleasurable, that can also be laid down ten years in the cellar. He explains: “I want the most natural possible wines which suits today’s taste.”
He is a very precise winemaker, he keeps the harvested grapes cool during one week, practises a soft pressing and fermentation, and mixes the berries and the bunches during fermentation. He then leaves the wine to mature 24 months in barrels. In July he locks up “this pleasure-wine in the bottle without clarification, nor filtration, to give it some structure, texture, chewiness” and recommends to taste it after minimum one year.
Just received my wine shipment and wanted you to know everything was perfect :)
Ncole and Ramsey (2019)
"Hi Pieter- hope all is well. Just received my wine shipment and wanted you to know everything was perfect :) Nicole and I have been working on the cellar in preparation (note the pea gravel!) and thought you would appreciate seeing where my wine would be calling home. All my best, and thanks again for such a lovely time in Alsace and Burgundy. Hope to do it again soon :) "
Wine lover and tour guide
I have been interested in wine practically all my life. Living in Amsterdam I did the "SVH- Slijters Vakopleiding". It is not a coincidence that I came to live and run a BnB in France right between the wine regions of Alsace and Burgundy in 2003.
The wine tours and tastings started as a hobby. It grew to be part of my business in 2012. Since then I organize one or more day wine tours and wine tastings in the French Alsace and Burgundy region and Tuscany Italy, all year round.
I can ship the wines people have bought on a tour to many countries in the world. For our American customers I even went one step further. Americans can now (re-)order wines from Alsace, Burgundy and Tuscany from their home via this shop.
